New GPU and CPU

Hi I am looking to invest in a new GPU. Would s GeForce® GTX 1060 G1 Gaming 6G and AMD FX 8350 work together well? or would it be a waste of money investing so heavily in the GPU with such an old CPU? My motherboard is Gigabyte SKT-AM3 78LMT-USB3 Motherboard. I am just looking to play train simulator to a good to very good standard with no low FPS.

Hi I actually own both of these and the 8350 barely bottlenecks it at all it's a very high performing duo even with the 8350 age however something to consider is the 8350 will be obselelte soon and with am3 socket having no upgrade path you could look into intel or maybe ryzen
