New GPU and now my rig randomly shutsdown

I just got the last two pieces of my new build. I threw in the new GPU, Gigabyte 1080 ti Gaming OC 11G, and set up my new monitor but now when I'm gaming my computer will just turn off and the reboot immediately. I've had it happen on multiple games now, Pubg and The Crew 2 seem to be the big culprits. I put my monitor program on my second window and neither my GPU or CPU temps are getting above 76. The GPU load is really high though up into the 90% a large portion of the time. I have no idea what is causing my issues. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I can't imagine the rig takes more than 500W even under stress.

I turned the clocking back down after the first time it crashed. Everything is running stock. Everything in the build was there except the GPU with no issues.

Windows tool didn't find anything. All the other components worked just fine with the old low end card in there.

300 watts? I've seen 250. And I'm not running it overclocked right now. I also don't want to drop $90+ just to see if it that works. That's kinda my last line at the moment.

I'll give it a try. I have to move the whole rig out of my room to do it.

There's other stuff plugged into the strip that doesn't turn off when it crashes.

It's not that I don't want to accept that as a solution. It's a weekend their customer service is closed. Why would I not try everything else before abandoning this PSU and trying something else. And even if it consumes 300 vs 250W that is well within the capabilities of a 650W PSU. Adding on another 50W on top of that just to be safe puts this rig at an estimated usage below 600 still.

If some other solution worked then that would save me a chunk of money. And you're right it was fine until I put the bigger card in there. And it's fine unless the card is at heavy usage. So it's also possible that they card is not working properly. I don't think that they card should be running at such high load levels but I don't have a good way to compare it to other similar cards.

I am running a 650w with a very similar rig but with a custom loop and never have had a power issue how old is your power supply possibly it is faulty and your only noticing because its pulling extra power because whenever your have a issue with your PC shutting down randomly its ether the power supply or the motherboard but almost always the power supply

if you do end up buying a new power supply i would recommend this one been using it in my test bench for ages and never let me downhttps://pcpartpicker.com/product/nn648d/seasonic-prime-650w-80-titanium-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-650td

Try re-seating your card as well as the power cables to the card and from the PSU (if modular) Plug it directly to the wall and run a Benchmark like Unigine Heaven or Superposition and see if it persists.

You can also buy a new PSU and if it works, keep it. If it doesn't, return it and eat the restocking and or the shipping fee and see if you can borrow a similar card to see if it fails with your current PSU.

It's new. I built everything in February. Just couldn't get the new monitor and card until prices went down a bit. I emailed TT and hopefully I'll hear back tomorrow.

The Rosewill Photon is on sale right now. I was thinking about that. Depending on if it's still on sale when I hear back from TT.
