I'm sorry, I know this has been asked before. I've gone through other threads and have tried the fixes:
I uninstalled the old drivers using Revo so they "should" be gone.
I installed the NVIDIA drivers directly from the site.
My monitor is connected to the GPU.

The website I use to check compatibility says there are no issues between the parts.

I just upgraded from a Radeon HD 7770 to a MSI GTX 1070 but the FPS is the same.

Here is the list of my parts. If it doesn't link correctly, let me know and I'll type it out.

Thanks!

You would have been better If you bought a weaker gpu like an rx 470-rx 480 and got a new mobo+cpu+ram. A gtx 1070 is massively overkill for your system. As you have noticed, it yielded you almost no benefit. Still, wait for Zen (it's supposed to be available in about two weeks) an than see what platform to go for. I'd either get a Kaby Lake i5 or a comparable Zen cpu (I guess a hexa core for around the same price?)
