New gpu BIG CHANGE

Ok I current have and amd R9 270, but if I wanted to step it up to a gtx 960. Is there going to be a big difference in the software on my computer? I know that Amd uses catalyst and and gaming and etc..., so if I install the new gpu on my rig. Do I have to uninstall all of the Amd softwares or just don't use them?
