[SOLVED] New GPU cables

Hey all,

I just got a rx590 fat boy and it requires 1ea 6pin and 1ea 8pin connector (Picked it up used, so came with just the card). My PSU is a Silencer mk iii 750. I have a 6+2 pin PCI express cable already for my current card (GTX 750ti) but need one more for this card. I cant for the life of me find one, what it the name of the type of connector my PSU has(I have 2ea 4pin and 5pin slots open)? Or just save the head ache and buy a 6+2 to 2x6+2 adapter? I also have extra molex adapters open so I could get a molex to pci-e adapter?

This PSU has 4x6+2 pin PCIe cables included in the box. If you bought it new you should have them in it's box.

Don't use adapters... they are not safe. Just think about it, 1x6+2 to 2x6+2 PCIe only calls for trouble... you'll fry the adapter if the power draw of that RX 590 exceeds what the single 6+2 pin PCIe can offer.

Adapters that'll work are: 2 molex to 1x6 pin PCIe and 2x6 pin to 1x8 pin PCIe. None of those will be of any use in your case unfortunately.

You won't find those cables with proprietary connectors for the PSU either. I'm afraid that you'll be forced to buy another power supply, even though the silencer was a decent unit made by superflower.

Just found a 6pin PCIe for your PSU... is from a super flower PSU that's using the same modular connectors(your silencer is a super flower unit too).

Here's the link to the cable:

A bit pricier, but I'd rather use this instead of the molex adapter.

That's awesome! Thank you! Out of curiosity do you think this one would work to future proof the psu for next time?

Uhh... searched for Tagan BZ series and it doesn't seem like the same 4 pin connectors to me...

The super flower amptac modular connectors are the same used on your silencer(because it's the same manufacturer)... from this image.

Just go with the 6 pin I recommended in the link I posted above.

I found an 8 pin(it'll split into 6+2) that'll work. This is from the Kingwin ABT MA1S PSU and the OEM is super flower too... it's using the same 4 pin connector.

That's perfect! Came with free shipping too so it was $10 less than the other one.
