I recently got gifted a secondhand computer which happened to have a better gpu then the one I had so I swapped them out I had installed all correct drivers for the new gpu uninstalling the old ones and kept running into issues with certain games so decided to put my old one back in which I’ve never had any issues with but now with my old gpu back in I have no display and no usb power. I have no bleep codes or lights other than a dram light of which isn’t showing anything wrong I tried clearing the cmos and that hasn’t worked does anyone have any suggestions?

full system spec? include brand and model of the psu
sound like psu cable is loose on some connection
i'm not too sure what specs are going to be important so i'll list all the ones i know
AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor
16GB kingston ram
sapphire Radeon HD 7870 2GB (old GPU the one that doesn't seem to work anymore)
as for the PSU i don't know the full specs buts its 550 w made by XFX

also the 'new' graphics card lets the system post and the screen and USB ports work perfectly its only when i put my old one back in that it doesn't seem to post which is really confusing as i know that it works as it was fully operational when i removed it 2 days ago. just wish i had another board i could try the card on but unfortunately i don't. I don't think it could be the PSU cable as the fans aren't going rocket speed like they normally would on a loose or wrong connection.

Well, look at the PSU and find the exact model. Just a brand and a wattage isn't enough.

And what *was* the new GPU? It's hard to solve a mystery when half the relevant facts are withheld.

i'll go somewhere else for help seems like you lot have got some sort of a [redacted] attitude problem. its quite obvious i'm not too sure on this tech bollox hence being here all you had to do was outline the question rather than being snotty. have a lovely day [redacted].

With this attitude, don't expect to get better help elsewhere. Information is required to solve a mystery. People who disrespect the time of others by getting angry when they request that basic information don't tend to get a lot of helpful advice. I simply asked you for basic information about what your new GPU was -- which you would presumably know since you say it was better than your old one -- and the PSU is something that you absolutely should know before installing a new GPU because of the risk of destroying things; it takes 45 seconds to find out what the model is. You could have found all the information about your PC in half the time it took to throw a temper tantrum.

And watch the language.

Since we all know how frustrating PC can be at times and even more so if you don't fully understand the tech it would be better if first you maybe make a cup of tea, sat down, chilled out, then ask for some advise.

Taking your frustrations out on those that are willing to help will not help you or the people you are asking advise from.

If things are that difficult for you then the only advise I can offer is take it to a repair shop.
