Currently play a few games on this PC, Crysis 3 is playable but the pc sounds like a jet engine ! also edit large RAW files with Photoshop and other similar software.

Current set up:
Microsoft Windows 7 64
ASUS M4A89GTD-PRO/USB3 motherboard
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 B55 Processor @ 3800 to 4000 MHz (none stock push/pull air cooler)
ATI Radeon HD 5770
4 x 2gb Kingston DDR3 @ 1600MHz
WD 1TB 3.5" SATA-III 6Gb/s Caviar Black Hard Drive
Cooler Master 500W PSU

Would the current motherboard take a newer GPU card or would there be bios issues etc? Will the cheap PSU hold out?

I realise that the GPU may be held back by the current CPU, but may do a complete rebuild later in the year based on a i5-4670K Processor or AMD FX8350/ AMD FX-8320

So want a graphic card which is somewhat future proof, these are the cards currently on my list

Sapphire Dual-X Radeon R9 270X OC 2GB GDDR5 (£145.00)
Sapphire R9 270X 2GB Toxic 1100MHz GDDR 5 (£160.00)
Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5 (£170.00)

Any help much appreciated

your bootleneck from you cpu ram speed this motherboard could support faster cpu speed http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A89GTD_PROUSB3/HelpDesk_CPU/ so adding to the new gpu will be a cpu and maybe another psu if your dont have all the needed power for the system http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/product_index.aspx?pid=2039&lid=1#
