New GPU got worse on one game, but better on others.

After installing my new Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 (old: Radeon HD 5750) games like League of Legends started stuttering (fps dropping from 60 to 40~50 randomly from time to time). The videocard did improve my gaming experience in other games though, like RIFT.

Any thoughts? Should I reinstall my computer? And yes, I installed the drivers.

NOTE: I've also updated my PSU from 350w to 620w

Solution
Basically what I was able to find out about League of Legends is that the ATI Drivers if you monitor the voltage / clock speed it go back and forth between 350MHz and 1100MHz, which is what is causing the stuttering.

Forcing a constant voltage is going to keep it at 1100MHz the whole time.

If it isn't something you want on all the time, you can create an afterburner profile, and just click the button to activate it whenever you want to play LoL

I've installed them via the website, my CD player is broke and I didn't bother getting the external CD player.

I've downloaded the driver here to be specific: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1160&pid=1744&psn=&lid=1&leg=0#

P.S. the game I get a lot of stutters is League of Legends, even though it ran perfectly before installing the new GPU.

Alright lemme try that, I'll come back to you tomorrow, whether it worked or not.

I'm also reinstalling my computer tomorrow so it might not even be necessary.

Code:

Btw, what does "force constant voltage" actaully do?

I've also looked it up on the internet and people didn't really respond positive about enabling it, or is it a very situational option?

NOTE: I've also updated my PSU from 350w to 620w.

That sounds like a legit solution, let me try it tomorrow and I'll come back to you if it worked or not. Thanks a lot for your informative and quick answers!

Alright, thanks again, you know a lot about this stuff!

Ok, so I tried it and it didn't work, it made things only worse. Any other suggestions?

Alright, the problem isn't massive or anything, it's just annoying.

Anyways, thanks for the help!
