I'm wanting to upgrade my current card (MSI 7950 twin frozr) in preparation for all these "next gen" games that are coming out. I love my 7950 but it's performance is starting to lag behind and I'd really like to get those max/ultra settings. Right now I'm thinking about a gtx 970. Would it be worth it so save some money and buy used? I see 970s on craigslist for $250 every once in a while, but for an extra $100 I could buy brand new and get The Witcher 3 for free anyways due to the deal nvidia is having. I've had my time with my AMD card so I'd for sure like to try nvidia this generation, if anyone can suggest a better/alternative route with a different comparable card that would be good too. I hear the 780 is very close to the 970?

780 is close to the 970, but the 970 uses less power and is easier to manage, it also has the extra GB of Vram which may become important. I'd do 970 any day of the week.
