Specs: GTX 1080
i5 7600k

Yesterday I got myself a GTX 1080 for an upgrade to my 1050 ti. Though I noticed I was getting at most the same fps on games like overwatch (30-100 fps) I factory reset my pc to see if anything would work but it seems like its the same.

Solution
Have you tried doing true benching on 3Dmark and compare to what other users with your rig setup results are?
I do a baseline and each driver update etc, I run the tests again to see if better or worse, lets you see a drop if you start developing an issue also.

This...
Make sure remove Old drivers, reboot install new ones. best of have already downloaded the ones you will need. Might even be helpful to set bios back to default if you OC until you get the GPU up to par then either reload if your Mobo supports profiles or re-OC

MERGED QUESTION
Question from robsauer10 : "New GPU does cpu bottleneck?"

I recently bought myself a gtx 1080 founders edition to go with my i5 7600k but I have tried various solutions such as maxing out my gpu performance via NVIDIA Control Panel, factory resetting my pc, and uninstalling my driver to put my new one in. Is there any other solutions or is this build just a bottleneck because I played various games such as Overwatch (40-100 fps) and Fortnite (60-90 fps)
