new gpu making problems in my pc... might need new power supply and motherboard for around £70

after putting in my new graphics card (Gigabyte Geforce Gtx 750 Ti GV-N75TWF2OC-2GI) my pc will not show any display or power any of the ports coming off my motherboard, but all of cooling fans and LED lights work fine, to fix this will i have to get a new motherboard and/or a new power supply? could you tell me if this is a good motherboard ASRock 980DE3/U3S3? and the best power supply for my system? this is my first build so any help will be appreciated

Do the preliminaries like seated correctly, 6 and/or 8 pin power connector, etc. Try disconnecting the dedicated video card, plug it in the mobo and see if it shows up. If not, try resetting CMOS. 500w is more thn enough for your build but if you want to upgrade to a better brand you could.

i have double and triple checked all of the connections.. and i have left it to sit for a couple of hours but still nothing... i will try resetting the CMOS now without the gtx 750 ti in it

Hi, just wanted to drop my 2 cents in case someone googles this like - I had same problem week ago. I displaced CPU in socket while trying to mount cooler, also had nothing happening and all fans working. Fixed position of CPU and everything started working like charm
