New gpu not working is it dead? Help please

Hi , I am having a trouble with my new gpu.

I switched cards prevously I had installed r9 280 in my system which I sold and bougt a gtx 1060 strix.

After installing the new card and turning on the Pc the led lights on the gpu turn on for one second and go off , the fans are spinning and I am getting no signal to the monitor.

It is not reconized in my bios or in device manager.

I tried reseting the gpu in the motherboard , reconencting the 8pin conector and nothing.( My psu is corsair 650W)

I disabled integrated card in devices manager turned off the pc and installed the card and still is not beeing reconized

I get signal form my integrated gpu but not from the 1060.

Any idea if this can be fixed or the card is dead?

make sure the motherboard bios is up to date

motherboard drivers are also up to date?



did you uninstall the old gpu drivers before swapping cards?

My bios is the latest available on that webside :

I am not sure about the motherboard drivers beeing up to date the bios is , no I did not unistalled the old drivers before installing the new card.

I took it out of the system as It was not working conencted to internal gpu and used DDU to remove old drivers

I went to my local store and bought gtx 1070 strix and its fully working will be doing RMA for the 1060 whuch was broken from the begining
