Hey so I'm trying to upgrade my gpu to a 3060 ti and this is one that I've been looking at - https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Graphics-Cards/TUF-Gaming/TUF-RTX3060TI-O8G-V2-GAMING/

My current GPU is a 1060 6gb MSI AERO ITX which is powered by a 1 x 6 pin connector (i think). It also has a little 2 pin on the same cable

can I buy a 1 x 6 pin to whatever the 3060 needs and it will work?

my case - https://kolink.eu/Home/case-1/midi-tower-2/observatory-series/observatory-black-1.html
the graphics card - https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Graphics-Cards/TUF-Gaming/TUF-RTX3060TI-O8G-V2-GAMING/
my motherboard - https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-DS3H-rev-1x#kf
cpu fan is hyper 212 black edition

its an aero cool 600w 80+ bronze

No, don't put that card in with that PSU. It's trash. I'd suggest an upgrade to a decent 550-650w Gold unit. The RTX series can hobble even some good PSU's because of it's super fast frequency switching and power draw.

PSU's like Corsair RM/RMx/RMi, Seasonic Focus Plus, EVGA G2/G3. All good quality units with 7-10 year warranties.

I've never changed power supplies before, which corsair psu would you recommend the most?

would my current psu be good enough for a lower end 3060 (not ti)

It could be that your current PSU 'might' be okay for a while with the lower 3060, but at some point it might begin to fail. When that happens, it's possible to take your shiny new GPU with it.

The PSU is the heart of your system.

Aerocool PSU aren't of decent quality. Often made with spurious chinese caps, which are no use (hence high failure rates)and poor quality soldering. For you own peace of mind, go with something better. What will happen is, the RTX GPU will trip the overprotections on your current PSU, and you will have random shutdowns. This is just the start.

What CPU do you have?

ryzen 2600x, I will buy a new PSU right now. Looking at the corsair TX-M 650w 80+ Gold. 650rm is £10 more

Not a bad choice! :) I've just ordered a TXM to go with my 5600x/2060 Super build.

Don't OC any components with that Aerocool PSU. Just a word of advice.
I actually got it from a dodgy prebuild site. They seem to give cheap parts so I'm lucky it hasn't acted up for the 2 years I've had it. Thanks for the help
