I replaced the graphics card of an Alienware x51 desktop (upgraded it from a GTX 660 to a GTX 1050TI) and now it won't display windows. The card definitely works and I can bring up the bios as well as the windows loading icon but when it starts up there's just no display.
I can still get windows to display if I unplug the GPU and connect the monitor to the motherboard.
Is there anything I could do about it?

Edit: if it's a power issue, would it be possible to reduce the power requirement for the 1050ti?

Depends on WHICH version of X51 you have.
The original, X51 or R1 or R2.
The R2 can take specific GTX1060 once the power supply is upgraded to 330W.
All of them can take GT1030 or GTX 1050TI short card. 1050TI or better REQUIRES 330W power brick.

would it still work with just 330W? just seems kinda low to me
Edit: I think its the R2
