I have a nvidia quadro 580 card in my pc, I didnt buy it it came with the dell precission T1500 I7 (2.8ghz) but i would like to upgrade it. My PSU is still only the standard 350w. What would be a good graphic card upgrade for use in general computing and light gaming?

If that's the same PSU you have, then the 12V rails technically offer a total of 360W, but according to the note on the side, max out at 300W combined.

Technically you could probably go with as high as a 120W GPU.

In any case, according to this thread on the Dell forums (https://www.dell.com/community/Desk...elp-Upgrade-of-a-Precision-T1500/td-p/5015550), the GTX 1050Ti (75W max) would work fine. I think even a GTX 1060 6GB (120W max) would be doable as well, but for light gaming, you might not be interested in going that far.

Newer AMD cards (most R9, all RX) probably won't work due to not supporting the older legacy BIOS's VESA modes properly. Ran into that on an XPS 8300 I have. Even if it did, at that point, you'd be looking at getting a beefier power supply.

Searching around the Dell forums will also maybe let you know what other GPUs would work.
