Just about to buy;
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Card

My current PSU, being 400w is no where near good enough, however, what sort of PSU am I looking for to support a single (Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Card).

I've looked about and asking about and some say 750w, some say 550w will be fine.
Should I buy the 550w or the 750w? Will the 550w be okay?

Or would anyone suggest a
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Card OR Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card

It depends on the 550watt, some will do just fine without a single problem like 1 of the Gigabyte models with 60 apms on the 12v rail.

Though I'll recommend a 650+ for the entire system to play it safe. 750watts is for crossfire. so if you plan to run 2 R9 280x's get a 750+ watt PSU.

Also I'd still recommend the R9 280x over the GTX760, the 760 is right with the 280 in a lot of things, but the 280x is even faster, also has more vram. AMD's Omega drivers look pretty tempting for high rez gaming.

I run 2x GTX760's in SLI, and im saying that. Only reason to get the 760 over the 280 is that Shadowplay is amazing for recording and streaming, much better then what AMD has to offer at this point in time.
