hello. so i bought a GeForce RTX 4060 from ASUS.. i put the card into my motherboard which is an ASUS old motherboard from 2009 or something. It supports PCI express 2.0 and my new graphics card is a 4.0 PCI express. then what happens when i power on PC is nothing happens on the screen. it is just black.. no bios.. no windows boot.. nothing... the card does work the fans do spin .. etc.. also my power supply is a 1200 watts so i think it should have enough power. then i don't understand what to do... some people online said could be driver problem, other people say BIOS issue.. i don't know what to do.. when i put my old card back in it works again normally.. and the old graphics card is an GeForce 1070 founders edition.

help me out maybe?

New cards seem to be hit and miss when it comes to old systems. If your system goes back to 2009 then I'm assuming it's either first or second generation Intel core. Personally I've not had any issues with my older systems, but there have been people who've posted here who have. There isn't always a lot you can do about it, but sometimes people have had luck booting with two video cards in (one that does work along with the new one). I'm not totally sure how all of this works as I haven't run into it first hand.

If your motherboard has PCIe 2.0, then it's possible it doesn't have a UEFI BIOS. I have seen other cards responding in the exact same way that you describe but work perfectly on motherboards with UEFI. I actually own one myself, an RX 580 2048SP which won't work with a 990FX motherboard but works just fine with an A320 motherboard.
