New graphics card causes my mouse to appear behind my games

Hi all, after googling ive had no lck so im turning to you guys!

A few weeks ago i bought a 2gb amd hd6450 (a masive step up from my old nvidia geforce 8500gt) and installed it in my pc along with all its drivers (im positive they are up to date) but when im playing steam games like fallout3, Fallout NV and skyrim my mouse seems to be active in the background because i see it at the top left of my m
onitor and when i click to do something in game it hits a shortcut and minimises my game.

Isn't the game supposed to cancel out the standard windows cursor?


My specs if wanted:

Intel core2quad q6600 2.4ghz
dell vostro 220 Mobo
AMD silent cooled 2gb AMD HD6450

Any tips are appreciated


Edit: thanks guys i did the pointer option and it worked, i did do a full uninstall yes butit turns out it was also raptr tryng to overlay thesteam overlay and that caused the issue on top of option for themes.....Thanks greatly guys i can now be fully submersed in my games!!!

Try this(taken from a Steam forum)

Go to Control Panel then go to Mouse Properties under Hardware, then on Mouse go to "Pointers" and remove the checkbox from "Allow Themes to Change Mouse Pointers" and apply

Did you do a clean uninstall of the nvidia drivers before you swapped the card? If not, boot in safe mode, uninstall both drivers, reboot and let the amd driver install.
