I currently have an XFX 7850 DD and it runs super hot when gaming like almost 100 degrees any idea why? I even have a corsair AF 140 Directly on it.

Also im looking at buying a new graphics card maybe a R9 270x or a 280 and was wondering which one would be the best for keeping cool (as in brand XFX, MSI etc)
Thanks

Specs-
Amd FX-6300 3.5Ghz 6 Core
MSI 970a-g43
550W EVGA Psu
4GB Corsair 1600 Mhz Ram
128GB SSD
500GB HDD

If you can, I would spring for a Nvidia GTX 970. These cards are priced great at a little over $300 and run super cool while also drawing little power. As for brands, you normally cannot go wrong with EVGA or MSI.

Forgot to mention im english and there about 280 pounds over here so like $400+, plus the bottleneck on my CPU.

Yeah, Im thinking of just getting a 280 but any reccomendation of which one, preferably for cooling, also the R9 280 is the same price as 760 ti.

Sapphire makes great coolers for their cards. MSI also makes great coolers for their cards in the form of their Twin Frozr cooler. Your CPU should also not be too much of a bottleneck if at all if you give it a bit of an OC.

Thanks and I'm not going to overclock until i got a custom cooler, I only have the stock one atm.

Nice dude, would love that set up just a poor student though haha : D

Ha. Well I didn't buy it all together.

CPU - free from work.
System Board - bought MSI, but the Ethernet port stopped working. I sold on ebay and got the Asrock for $125.
GPU- bought a 7870, didn't like the power, sold on ebay and bought a Sapphire 7970 (good card). Sold it on ebay for $130 and used that to get my GTX 970.
Case- bought a crappy case to start with, then got the Fractal Design R4. This PC is in my living room, so I bought this for noise and aesthetics.
RAM - My other system had 16gb, but I barely used it, so I took 8 from there.
HDD - Bought 2 of the drives. One I got from work.
SSD - just bought this a few weeks back.
PSU - bought an OCZ 700w, too loud. Sold on ebay and got the HX750... wanted to Crossfire, so I sold that on ebay and got the HX1050 from ebay too.

Next purchase- new ram and possibly a 2nd GPU to max out all games at +60FPS with all the AA available.
