I just installed my first graphics card, a Gigabyte G1 Gtx 1060 6gb, and I'm having some issues. First I get a green screen on Youtube videos from time to time and then they stop working. I read somewhere that turning off hardware acceleration on chrome would help. It has but now my video playback seems a little choppy or just not as smooth. I have all the gigabyte drivers up to date and flash is up to date too. I assumed adding a graphics card was straight forward and all i had to do was pop it in to get a huge jump in performance but so far its been more trouble than its worth.

Current setup:
Intel Core I3-6100
Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3
8 GB ballistix ram

Any help would be aweome, thanks!

Please download Display Driver Uninstaller to aid in the process of uninstalling the drivers. Once downloaded, reboot into Safe Mode and open DDU. It's a pretty simple program, I think you'll get it rather quickly.

Once drivers are uninstalled, turn the computer off, unplug it, press and hold the power button for three seconds to drain any remaining power, open the case and remove the graphics card. Check to see if there are any blemishes or scratches on the PCIe connector. If so, take a picture and post it here, also keep it for your own records in case you need to contact the manufacturer. Next, simply blow in the PCIe slot on the motherboard and put the card back in.

Once done with that, start the computer back up and...

Yeah I was being dumb haha I had to extract the files before entering safe mode. Downloading the nvidia drivers now fingers crossed everything works fine from here on out. Thanks weberdarren97!

One other quick question though. Was I right in turning off hardware acceleration or do you think my old drivers were causing the issues and I should turn hardware acceleration back on?
