I just bought an R9 280 to replace my R7 270x to find that my monitor will not display. All the fans are moving, including the GPU's fan, but I am getting a "No Signal" message from my monitor. Both the 6 and 8 pin connectors are firmly plugged in, and the card is completely in the PCI-E slot.

Things I've tried
- Reseated RAM
- Reseated GPU
- Made sure CPU was correctly in place
- Reset CMOS

Thanks for helping.

I've tried some of those things, but most of them don't apply to me. Do you think it has something to do with my old GPU's drivers? I haven't uninstalled them.

When I installed my r9 280 it booted straight in but at a bad resolution that was fixed after the amd hd drivers were installed. I would remove the card uninstall the drivers for your old card. Then go download amd catalyst so that once you boot in you can update your drivers. the 270x is on the new gpu core while the 280 is basically a 7990

I just uninstalled the old drivers, but i'm still getting the "No signal" message. I'm thinking about just returning the card for a new one.
