New graphics card not installing correctly

I recently bought a new graphics card for my computer - AMD HD7870.
I removed my old graphics card and put this one in its place and when i turn my computer on i here 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps that keeps repeating. The fan on the graphics card is also not spinning. Ive searched and found that this means there is an error with the video card? 🙁 Im 99% sure its placed correctly, ive reseatted my RAM sticks and still get the same problem.
I dont have a custom built computer, i have a packard bell ipower g3710 and the motherboard is packard bell FMP-55.
Looking at similar threads, some people have said it means the graphics card is not compatible with the mother board however I thought as I have a PCI-E x16 slot available that it would be compatible? no? 🙁

Any thoughts to why it isnt working and how to solve it?

The power supply is the problem. Do you have a link to that? Looks like a prebuilt PC.
A picture of the power supply sticker would also work fine.

Yeah it is a prebuilt PC, I bought it from PC-World around 4 years a go and only I thing ever upgraded until now was the RAM, apart from that everything is the same.

FSP450-60EP is my power supply model number.

ya you have to upgrade your PSU and get one with 2x6 Pin Power for the GPU.. with out it you won't get your system to start up at all... get something with around 600 Watts.. nothing lower than 500-550 Watts....

Same old problem. The power supply is a cheap one. Go for a quality power supply 500/550W.
Go with a Corsair CX600 or TX650. A 500W will also work.

Exactly. You just need a PSU that can plug into the graphics card so it can power it.

So I am guessing that is where you plug the 2x6 Pin power connectors when I get a better PSU that has that.

Correct AMD recommends a 500watt PSU you could get away with less if it is a quality PSU but I would go for a 500 watt quality psu then you dont have to worry about the future.
