New graphics card on old motherboard and cpu

I am looking to buy new computer but I don't have enough money now and still I want temporary upgrade my old computer till I will have money to buy a new one.
So the issue is my CPU and motherboard is old, and I want to buy a new video card, so my question is if I buy a Radeon RX 480 G1 GAMING 8GB GDDR5 or Radeon RX 470 G1 GAMING 4GB GDDR5, at least rx 470 will work with my computer? And if RX 480 will work for me too?
I just don't want to take risks and I don't understand too much with it...

My computer:

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz
Motherboard: Asus P8P67-M
Power: 600w

RX 470 and RX 480 should both be fine on it, but I'd get the RX 570, should be about as fast as a 480 and a little bit cheaper. You'll want to upload your BIOS to the newest version anyways even if the old one supports if. For what it's worth, the brand and model of your PSU are good things to include in a post, not just the wattage.

The rx480 is still a decent amount faster than the 570. The 570 is just a higher clocked 470. Just get the 480. Also whats the psu model?

ditto RX480 its only a few bucks more than a standard 470, and the 570 isn't all that it says it is... RX480 is a Solid choice.

Depends on what you consider "decent." RX 480s aren't as cheap as they were before the release, they're the same price as the 580 now if you ignore the rebates on them that MIGHT come in after waiting for 3 months. If you're gonna spend $200 anyways you might as well get the newer card.

not sure where you live, but in the united states of America... the 580 is a lot more expensive than the 480

Is there any potential for issues with Legacy BIOS vs UEFI?

EDIT: possibly disregard this question - while it might merit further investigation, my (very brief) searching suggests that the Asus P8P67-M either supports UEFI, or UEFI boot is something you can set in the BIOS. This may or may not depend on which revision of the board you have.

And same question about Sapphire Radeon RX 580 NITRO+ LIMITED EDITION 8GB GDDR5, or maybe just regular 580 there are not too much different, there's a chance it will work for me?

You'll want to be using UEFI boot for new cards if you can
