I currently have an AMD HD6850 that is on its last legs; I'm having frequent crashes that don't seem to be heat-related. It's definitely the card, as when I swapped a new one in everything worked properly, and the crashes returned when I put the old card back in.

Since everything under the sun is on sale here in the US this weekend, I figure now is as good a time as any to get a new video card. I don't want to upgrade my entire machine right now (that will happen next winter, I think), so I just want a card that will keep my current level of performance without spending more than I need to. Ideally I'd like to keep it under $200.

Relevant System Specs:
--AMD Phenom II X3 BE 2.8 Ghz, no OC
--8 Gb DDR3 RAM
--890XA motherboard
--Crucial MX100 512 Gb SSD for OS
--1920x1080 60Hz monitor

I do game, primarily FPS and the Batman series. If I left out any important details please let me know; I've been out of the video card buying game for a while now. Thanks!

Solution
If you play the batman series then you must get a GeForce card. (Because of the Nvidia PhysX.) :)

The GTX 760 is around $179 right now, great card for the price.
