So I am selling my vapor x r9 290x's that I had in crossfire because of amd's driver issues and they never to seem to run a constant frame. I want to switch to nvidia and was looking at the 970's, was wondering if this is a good trade off, I'll probably get two of whatever card I get, I was comparing my old card to the 970 and the specs do seem to be lower, streaming processors 1664 compared to 2816 and core clock is lower. I have a 4k monitor so as long as I'm able to run max settings on 4k would the 970 be a good card or should I get something else?

Solution
You can't compare the spec of Nvidia card to AMD cards since they using different architecture.
The GTX 970 SLI would be slightly slower to the R9 290X crossfire.
