New Graphics or new system?

This is my old PC and "My Sons new pc" is there good/smart graphic card for this old system...

i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3801 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. G1.Sniper M3-CF
2048MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB

Gaming on 1920*1080

Do I need to need SPEND big money on new build

Rx 580 or Gtx 1060 would be a good match for 1080p 60Hz.

If monitor is 1080p 120/144Hz screen, would be looking at atleast a Gtx 1070.

As said 4c 4t CPU will bottleneck a GPU better than the two cards i mentioned playing at higher frame rates in which case a 2nd hand i7 with Hyperthreading will help minimise bottlenecking in most cases with modern games today that are multi threaded.

Your cpu is plenty good enough for gaming.
You have the ability to overclock with your motherboard, giving some 20% more capability.

Your 850w psu can run any modern graphics card.
I might think a GTX1060 6gb would be appropriate.

If son plays fast action shooters, and you are feeling kindly, buy a GTX1070.
