New Graphics or new system?

This is my old PC and "My Sons new pc" is there good/smart graphic card for this old system...

You can put a new card with it and it will do fine as long as the game is more,GPU dependent

Depends what you want to do with it. A 1060 6GB card will do well. If you are looking to run newer games you could get up to a 1080 but,will notice some CPU bottleneck. The GPU will be good to transfer to a new system later if you wanted.

Rx 580 or Gtx 1060 would be a good match for 1080p 60Hz.

If monitor is 1080p 120/144Hz screen, would be looking at atleast a Gtx 1070.

As said 4c 4t CPU will bottleneck a GPU better than the two cards i mentioned playing at higher frame rates in which case a 2nd hand i7 with Hyperthreading will help minimise bottlenecking in most cases with modern games today that are multi threaded.

Your cpu is plenty good enough for gaming.
You have the ability to overclock with your motherboard, giving some 20% more capability.

Your 850w psu can run any modern graphics card.
I might think a GTX1060 6gb would be appropriate.

If son plays fast action shooters, and you are feeling kindly, buy a GTX1070.
