So as the title goes my brand new EVGA GTX 1070 SC is giving me no signal via display port or HDMI, its a brand new PC with no windows or anything installed but when your turn the pc on everything loads fine even the 1070 starts, the lights come on and stay on but the fans start and then stop after a few seconds not sure if thats just the auto low setting.

Put in my old 660ti to rule out any of the other parts and the system boots into bios and displays on monitor fine, yet when i put the 1070 in nothing happens at all. No signal.

I'm sure i havent given nearly enough info there but any help is appreciated.

Don't panic, this is a common problem! This happened to me and I believe this is what I did to fix it, if this doesn't work be sure to get back to me. You have to plug your monitor into your motherboard, not the graphics card to start. This is because you don't have the graphics card drivers installed yet so there will be no signal through it. Once the computer is on just install the drivers with the included CD or I believe you can download them through EVGA. Once all that is done you can plug your monitor back into your graphics card and you'll be good to go. I hope this helped :)

Hey, thanks but i should have posted my specs as ive gone with the x99 chipset and 6800k with an asus x99 strix motherboard and so i dont actually have any onboard options. Its a Corsair RM650x power supply so i really don't see it not being enough power either.

Yes thats my board SlyNinja and no i havent tried the DVI-D connection purely because i dont have one but also my monitor doesnt have that connection anyway.

Ok so what it looks like you're going to have to do is buy a usb to hdmi adapter or whatever else your monitor supports. (You can do usb to anything like DVI, VGA, etc.) Just do what is cheapest. You can search around, walmart has some usb to hdmi for around $10.

*EDIT* I've never used one of these USB adapters before so I am just amusing they work going by they are a thing.

Apreciate your help and im not expert but im pretty sure i dont need an adaptor. The monitor and my card support displayport so i dont think adaptors is what i need or that being the issue.

Yeah I'm not an expert either, I'm just going from experience. Again I think the problem is you need to install the drivers onto the new graphics card before anything will work, so you need to figure out how to use your monitor without having to plug it into the graphics card.

*EDIT* Im also not saying that you'll have to permanently use the adapter. Just until you get the drivers installed for the graphics card. Once thats done you get rid of the adapter and plug the monitor into the card.

From what I understand he can't get signal to his monitor, meaning he won't be able to get to his bios.

Well yeah, use the old 660 Ti to post and poke around in there.

Noticed my board does have an 8 pin cpu connector and a 4 pin next to it. Could that be the problem its not giving enough juice to the pci slot? My psu only came with a 4+4 so i just assumed i only need to plug that in and that was that.

Does your CPU have onboard video? If so, connect monitor on onboard and boot into bios via onboard video. Then check to see bios settings, you may be set to on board in bios. If so, change to PCI-E video option and then re-install card back into system.

Been trying different things all day now, gonna have to send the card back its the only explanation i can think of, theres no error codes on the board, no error leds on and theres just no display yet i know the board isnt faulty because everything works if i put in the 660ti.

You have to pay £450 here for a 1070 atm so im not at all impressed its arrived not working and i now have to go through all the hassle of sending it back.

So it didn't work in a different computer?

No i just cant get it to display at all/

From what I remember when I owned an eVGA GTX 260 they had great customer support. I think it's time you talked with them.

Wow, so i throw in my old hdmi lead and the display pops up, after all that! Literally spent about 8 hours fiddling with stuff today. Wonder why DP isnt working now but happy i can finally boot my new system, hopefully!

Nice! What do you mean by old HDMI lead? An older cable you had lying around?

Came with my xbox one years ago which i later sold, found the cable in the tv cabinet and thought i'd just give it a go, worked straight away, cautious right now though as im hoping it is a leady and just not a faulty part just working for now.
