New GTX 1080 Wont Post Video or Boot - No signal detected on boot (Asus p9x79e-ws mobo)

Just today I got a new GTX 1080 for my build,
Went from using two SLI 560ti's to a 1080, so as you can imagine, was pretty stoked.

Until it didn't post.

When plugged in the GTX 1080 pulses orange/pinkish but does not output any signal and the fans remain stationary. My motherboard (ASUS p9x79E-WS) lists this as error code b2 which is no VGA adapter detected.

I've updated my Bios to the latest version (1704) and tried changing PCIe slots and power configuration, I'm fairly certain its a motherboard compatibility issue, but any help you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated!

System specs-
i7 3930k
Asus p9x79E-ws
12gb DDR3 Ram
2x 560ti SLI (old working)
Corsair HX 850i (New, working)
GTX 1080 *Not currently posting any video

Did you accidentally plug your monitor into the motherboard video ports?
Did you try reseating the gtx 1080?
Can you try installing the 1080 into another pc?
Does the bios show the gtx 1080 is installed?

Motherboard has no video output,
Tried reseating 1080 across all 7 lanes, same on all.
Can't get to BIOS because no video is being output, but BIOS Code references that it can't detect the 1080.
The 1080 is receiving power and its LED lights turn on, its fans spin for about 2 seconds when the PC is turned on, but the PC never posts, it just stalls because it can't detect a video card.

Update -

GTX 1080 installed in an older system, an X58 i7 950,
And it works! So this seems to be a purely P9X79E-WS/GTX1080 issue,
I've updated to the latest Bios and still no luck,
Anyone have literally any ideas? 🙁

If the issue is related to P9X79E and the GTX1080 working together, then I can't see other options, than getting a new motherboard. Otherwise, you could try contacting nVidia to get them to comfirm or deny the posisblity of the mismatch between motherboard and GTX1080.
