Hey guys,
I upgraded my PC just 4 days back and I now have an ASUS DirectCU II OC GTX 770 w/ 2 GB, an Intel i5 4670K and an ASUS Z97 motherboard. It has been gaming fine and I otherwise have no issues but today I decided to run benchmarks on the card.
Both my CPU and GPU are at their stock clock settings as I have not overclocked them yet. However, when I ran the Unigine Heaven 4 benchmark I noticed that the card makes a brief 20 second buzzing noise near the beginning of the benchmark.
It starts off faint, but eventually gets noticeably louder. It then becomes faint again and disappears for the remainder of the benchmark.
I am not sure if this sound is due to the fans of my GPU or the coil but from the examples of coil whine I have heard from videos on Youtube, this sound appears to be completely different. It is a lower pitched buzzing noise as opposed to the high pitch squeals due to coil whine.
Strangely enough, when I ran 3DMark and Furmark, it did not make these noises at all even on the highest of settings. Also, it doesn't make the sound when I play games either.
To show you guys exactly what I am hearing, I have posted the recording on Soundcloud. The noise starts off at the 24 second mark and gets louder over time and then disappears.

Is this a problem I should be worried about, or is it normal? I can still get it replaced from the store I bought it from so that isn't a problem but should I even bother in the first place?
Thanks in advance for the help! 😀
[EDIT:] I Just realized that when I run 3DMark I also get that same noise when I ramp up the 3DMark settings.
