Hi guys, today i bought a gtx 970 and im having issues with it. When playing quite intensive games, the graphics card freezes for a second and then the pc restarts. I have downloaded some software to find out what is going on and i can see there is a giant surge of power before the crashes.

my 'Power Consumption [% TDP]' goes from 27-33 up to 83-94 just before the crash
this is matched with
PerfCap Reason [] going from 16 to 4
Bus Interface Load [%] 0-3 to 11
and
Memory Controller Load [%] from 5 to about 75.

I was wondering what the most common issue for this is and if there is a way to solve it? (psu, drivers etc.)

Thanks in advance

Ah ok, i will try and get the model of my psu in a sec. I know that it was a budget one fitted after my cx750 died (which i am about to send back for a replacement). What would you say would be needed as a minimum to run a i7 4770k, gtx970 and 16gb ram? thanks.

A quality 550 watt would do just fine, that CX750 is also very low quality.
