Hi everyone, thanks in advance

This is my build;

Xfx 750w 80plus

Gigabyte h110m-h

I3 6100

2x8gb ddr4 kingston

Ssd 250gb Samsung

Hdd WD 1tb

Bitsuba generic case

Gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb

Windows 10 64gb

All the components are new, but the psu. The psu is fine, the vga is fine, all the hardware is fine (I have been using it like for 5 months, let me make a short explanation).

Like 5 months ago, when I bought the vga, I was not getting video signal after the installation, so I can remember I solved it by holding the power button for empty the circuit of the integrated vga, and touched “something that I don’t remember” in the bios. Finally I used to get video signal.

Performance was super, good fps, superb temperatures… all ok. I was using a dvi-d cable, from the gtx1060 to the monitor.

Yesterday my monitor died (yes, I can confirm it was the monitor cause pc was able to boot windows until desktop, played some music with the keyboard+spotify, but no video at all… so, monitor is dead)

So, I tried to use the pc with the tv. The tv is a Samsung 32” led full hd.

Plugged the hdmi… no signal, plugged the vga+dvi-d adapter (tv has no dvi, only vga and hdmp)… no video signal.

So I got the SUPER idea of resetting the bios, unplugged power cable, removed the battery and restart with the cable plugged to the gtx1060… no signal. So I came back to the first time, when I was without signal from gtx, but normal signal from integrated graphics.

So at the moment I did this things;

-disabled the integrated graphics, from windows and from the setup

-forced the setup to give graphics via the PCI-e

-updated motherboard bios

-updated gtx drivers (nvidia experience drivers)

-did the power button thing

-played with some bios configuration with no results.

So actually I got video only from integrated graphics. Gtx doesn´t gives video signal but windows boots normally to desktop.

What the hell can be??? I have no idea, and don’t remember how I was able to make it work time ago!!!

I can confirm that PSU and gtx1060 are ok, they aren’t faulty (I was playing until monitor screwed up, then reseted the bios and … no video signal.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Solution
normal DVI to VGA adapter will not work as nvidia ditched analog support on the GTX 1xxx series, so you're gonna need an active DVI to VGA converter, also you can use HDMI cable which is better than DVI-VGA converter

EDIT: didnt read it properly, test a different HDMI cable and make sure that you select HDMI in your TV settings, keep in mind it may have more than one HDMI port so make sure you select the correct HDMI port

Thanks in advance for the fast response;

Im getting my monitor back from repair in one hour... will update the situation (i was using the monitor with the dvi-d cable, so i will give it a try)
Didn`t knew that about the normal DVI to VGA adapter, but its good to know.

will update soon, any other ideas are welcome

■ Update: solved! As you said Notea, the incompatibility was in the DVI > VGA adapter and the 10xx gtx series.

Plugged the old dvi in the recently fixed monitor, resseted the cmos and holded the power down while power cable unplugged, then power up and all fine.

Really appreciate the fast response. Thanks a lot!
