Question New hard drive, and now audio playback is "muffled"

I installed a new SSD into my Lenovo T430 laptop. For some reason, audio playback is now very "muffled" (I notice this through headphones...the laptop's speakers aren't great so it's hard to tell if this same thing is happening there as well).

If I plug the old hard drive back in and play the same exact video on YouTube, for example, the sound is "normal" / great. Then going back to my new hard drive, the same video sounds noticeable different and "worse," IMO.

Any advice on what this could be, and / or how to fix it? Thanks!

Did you clone the old drive to the new one or reinstall Windows completely?

I re-installed Windows completely

Sorry, I’m super computer-illiterate, and am not sure what that means.

Is there a way I can “fix” the audio with my new hard drive and make it sound clear like with my old one?
