Right!

My hard drive died on me so i went and got a new 1tb WD blue hard drive.
The orginal hard drive was running windows 8 but i wasn't keen on it so i done a fresh install of windows 7 home premium on the new hard drive. It installed and was running fine. When i turned on the pc today it boots straight into EFI Shell and doesn't do anything unless i type exit and hit enter then it will send me back to the Bios.

Now i cleared CMOS and started it up again and as it done before went straight to the EFI Shell, so i typed exit and it loaded up windows but everytime i shut the pc down and boot it back up it will go straight to the EFI Shell and if i type exit it will send me straight to the Bios again. So the only way to make the pc boot up windows is if i clear the cmos and type exit in the EFI Shell and its not good having to keep disconnecting the battery just so i can load up windows, i don't have a clue on how to fix this i have tried all settings in bios but no luck!

The motherboard i am using is a MSI FM2-A55M-E33.

Help please!

Hey there, Scotty!

Sorry to hear about this annoying issue that you have. :/
I'd suggest to change the mode of the motherboard into legacy BIOS, instead of UEFI.
Check this tutorial for more info: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/29504-bios-mode-see-if-windows-boot-uefi-legacy-mode.html

Another thing you can try is changing the SATA mode from AHCI to IDE from BIOS and see if that will help you fix this problem.

Are you using the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7 HP? Because UEFI does not support 32-bit versions of Windows.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! :)

Have same issue here.. hopefully you can help..
Right now I'm suffering from my mistakes of Dual booting procedure....
I've managed to completely empty the Emmc / storage of my Windows tablet.
Keep booting to EFI- key in "exit" then Bios again...
main issue is that.. the bios does not have option to do Legacy as it is Default to UEFI only...
it doesnt have option to boot to anything except EFI shell.. then nothing more...
I really dont know if i will be able to revive the Tablet but i;m 100% sure that it's hardware is Good.

my tablet is... Cherry Mobile Alpha morph x32 8.1 UEFI
