thanks for the input. I am re-cloning now with boot partition (I hope, call Dell utillity on my CPU). I used Macrium, recommended by several over the one that came with the Sandisk SSD. Macrium said that if the partition was essential, would have the Win logo on the header and the Dell did not. I loaded via USB adapter for SATA external. On first try system crashed, had to repair itself. The SSD shows in explorer and Disk Management but could not select in BIOS boot sequence. Someone told me Dell probably would allow USB booting, not sure about this, would have to install and it might work without the Dell partition.
