New hard drive for Dell Latitude D620

I reciently bought an old Dell Latitude D620 laptop, and have sucessfully installed Windows XP Professional.

However, the hard drive it came with is only 60GB. I plan on installing all my legacy games, so I would probably need more space. And I want to do this befor installing all the games, since I would need to reinstall windows after the hard drive swap.

Is there any precautions I should take befor buying a new hard drive? Would an ssd work? 5600rpm or 7200? What about drivers?

Thanks for all tips; not really sure how to go about this since I am mostly familiar with newer operating systems.

if it supports sata it should work with an ssd, otherwise 7200rpm.
with a new hard drive you probably have to reinstall windows, so youll need to find your drivers again.

Any 2.5 inch drive that fits in the bay will work.
An SSD should work
Personally, I would use just a plain old 2.5 inch laptop drive unless you happen to have an SSD lying around somewhere
