I bought this hard drive:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-ST1000NM0011-Drive-Serial-ATA-7200RPM/dp/product-description/B004TLPWHW/ref=dp_proddesc_0?ie=UTF8&n=340831031&s=computers

It looks like this, as I expected:

Except it has a black case around the edge as though it's to be slotted in, it's also covering the data and power ports and replaces them with one that I don't recognize.

My motherboard is a 760GM-P21 (FX), have i bought the right hard drive?

i think it can be removed, i just don't want to damage anything. it's also screwed in so it doesn't just come out.
