New Hard drive too slow.

Bought a new Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm 64mb cache. Installed csgo on it and load times were much longer than my old WD green. Also the game was lagging a lot.

Have I done anything wrong while setting up the HDD ?

in order to know you would have to compare the specs of each drive. like the WD green drive may have been a SATA 3 drive while you new drive could possibly be a SATA 2 one depending on how cheap it was

If it's a brand new barracuda, you are right to expect faster loads than from a WD Green. I don't think conventional hard drives are fast enough to reach the limits of the SATA 2 bandwidth, so I don't think it actually matters if it's running SATA 2 or SATA 3, although it should be SATA 3.

Are there any firmware updates or anything you can find on google?

I have just put 1 game on it. And my PC is also working slow for whatever reason. Even chrome is lagging which is not even on that hard drive. What is the problem here ?

seagate barracuda st1000dm010 This is the hard drive model number if that helps.

if you just got the drive then it may need a few days to optimize. if after a week or 2 its still slow i would contact seagate about it

It got delivered just 2 hours ago.

I found my problem, it wasn't the Hard drive, it was my RAM. http://imgur.com/a/05BUl Only 2 gb out of 12gb was usable. Fixed it by reinserting the RAM's.
