Hey all!

I've been having some issues with Getting new hard drives registering on my new computer build. essentially what has been going on is that i have tried two brand new hard drives (WD blue 2TB, Seagte barra. 2TB) with alternating power and SATA cables. The disk always spins up but whenever i go into windows or Bios i can't ever seem to find these brand new hard drives. So i tested an older samsung SATA drive and it picked it up automatically. Any ideas?

system componets:
I5-9600k
gigabyte z390 UD motherboard.
16GB DDR4 2666 sniperX RAM
PNY GTX 1070
WD Green 120GB m.2 2280 SSD (boot drive)
Fenvi wifi card.

Brand new drives often need to be Initialized.
Does it appear in Disk Management?

Also, your motherboard disables certain SATA ports when using an m.2 drive (Your Kingston).
You'll have to look in the user manual, section 1-7, for the allowed configurations.
