Question New harddisk - WD Red vs WD Ultrastar.

I'm searching for a new harddrive.
I've been using WD Red for the last many years, and I'm very satisfied.
However, prices on WD Ultrastar is far better.

What are the pros and cons WD Red vs WD Ultrastar?

12tb WD Red is about 10$ more expensive than 16tb WD Ultrastar in "my store".

Go for the Ultrastar. Both are HGST CMR models (why didn't the reviewer mention this?). The Ultrastar has a far better transfer rate.

Many of the differences in WD's lineup are in the firmware, ie no real physical difference. The rest is just marketing spiel.

Just make sure you accidentally do not buy SAS model.
SAS model requires additional SAS controller card.
