hey guys, i bought a new computer a few months ago and now i bought a new harddrive. In that start my computer was very very silent. The problem is, that after i've put that harddrive in my computer, my computer is being very loud. It sounds like when running an old loud computer and i dont know what to do..

Well after trying out everything, if you still thing that the noise might not be normal, perhaps it would be a good idea do download the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool and test the drive for errors and/or bad sectors, and see if anything alarming shows up.

Please keep me posted.
Hey there.

Check the drive for errors and bad sectors via its manufacturer's diagnostic tool. Give it a try with a different SATA port and cables. Make sure that you've properly mounted it to the case so that excess vibrations don't intensify the noise.
Basically if the drive is 7200RPM and you're comparing it to a 5400RPM drive, it is only natural to be a bit noisier since it rotates faster.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.

I forgot to mention that it is a seagate barracuda 1tb 7200 rpm, but im using one of the old sata cables because that was the only one i could find and i dont know if that could be the problem...
