Hello,
I am facing a problem that my computer doesn't recognize anything that I externally plug in. Only old stuff works: old usb drives, old tablet, old monitors (that I used in the past). When I plug in something new my computer doesn't recognize anything or it starts installing hardware witch always fails. Now I am trying to plug in a new monitor that I got today. It is a Dell 23" S2340L LED IPS monitor and it doesn't recognize it. When I plug out my old monitor and plug it back in It doesn't work and I have to restart my computer in order to get it working. I have a Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3 board and I use windows 7.
Help is much appreciated.

If Windows fails to install a driver download and install the driver from the company that made the hardware's website.

As for the monitor, are you using the same display port as the old monitor was connected? Do you have a graphics card installed or are you only using the motherboard HDMI?

So should I instal the companies driver for every usb drive I use? Some times I dont even know witch one it is when someone gives me one... When I use them on my laptop it automatically works...

For the monitor I am using the motherboard HDMI.

If you are having problems with the USB download and install the latest Chipset and USB 3.0 Controller drivers here http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_IV_GENEZGEN3/HelpDesk_Download/

You don't have a graphics card installed right? If you do the motherboard connector will not work. If you're just using onboard video, download and install the VGA driver from that website too. What does the new monitor do when you boot the computer? Just a blank screen?
