New hardware not working

Help! I bought my son a new graphic card and it is not working. His monitor says no input. Tried the card in a different computer and it seems to work. We have tried many things to no avail.

Anybody have any advice?

How is it connected to the monitor? If you installed a card did you plug the monitor into it? Not into onboard video?
