Hello,

My company is replacing an old PIII 800 SCSI based Win2K
server with a new Xeon SATA RAid based server next
weekend. The old server is a DC (first tree in a forest,
second DC is an Exchange server).

We are taking the old server out of production and I am
planning on using same IP address/Computer name etc.

I know I need to transfer FSMO role, Active Directory,
etc.

Is there a Microsoft Article detailing the steps we need
to undertake to accomplish the task.

Thanks,

P.Gilbert

Thanks Jerold,

Great site! Your reply is right on target and contains
additional references that should help facilitate the
installation of the new server. I'll let you know after
the weekend.

Many thanks,

Phil Gilbert
