New HD in 4550 dimension

I have an old Dimension 4550 and want to install a seagate sata 500 GB HD, will HD work in old computer and run windows 7 or 10?

Well...that PC came with 256 MB of RAM and Windows 7 requires minimum of 1GB of RAM, so if you didn't upgrade to 1 GB Windows 7 isn't going to work.
