Hello,

Earlier today my Deskstar 7K1000.C 1TB hard-disk drive arrived and I installed it without mounting screws as the HDD doesn't exactly match up where it should do, with my case. There are no obvious problems when using the computer other than very sharp vibrations coming from the HDD throughout the case, on and off rather than continuous. It's loud too of-course.

Does anyone have any ideas to share?

Thanks again!
Nathan.

When hdd's don't line up it usually means it's not located in the correct position. I have yet to find a case that doesn't match, some harder then others, but they do line up.
Some have slots that make it easier, some can be a pain as it looks as if the drive is in correct space, but is in fact in the wrong spot and may need to come out to check if it's in the correct bay. It may appear as if there is space for two drives but in fact need to go up or down a bit to line up.

The problem however is that the slot it's in is the only place I can get the PSU SATA connector to.
Is it really bad to have the HDD like this?
