Replaced HDD on laptop-- The hard drive failed so bought a new one. I made recovery disks as well as a repair disk. However with new drive the system is telling me the disks are not compatible with this computer? Is there a Downloadable disk image or repair disk somewhere I can access?

Thanks in advance for any help in resolving this issue!

The recovery disks made was for the operating system installed on the old hdd. Those disks are only meant for repair jobs and do not contain the entire operating system to install from to a new hdd.

If you have your product key download legally the iso image of the operating system that was on your laptop. Your key will only be valid for the operating system version that was installed on the laptop so chose wisely.

Need to reinstall the operating system via method in link or buy the operating system again along with new key.

you can install windows from an OEM disk using the CD Key on the bottom of your laptop, then go to the manufactures website and download the drivers and utilities for your laptop.

you can also order the disks you want from the manufacturer
