new hdd showing in device manager but not anything else

As title. New WD green 2tb, regardless of whether connected internally via sata or externally via usb hard drive reader, will only show in device manager but not in

- Disk management
- Diskpart in command prompt
- diskinternals linux reader
- BIOS under drives

Not sure what to do. Send it back?

have you tried it on another computer? is it spinning up? are the heads moving?

if it is new send it back.

Tried on two Desktops and a laptop. It does indeed spin when powered up.

send her back. you paid for a working device. this one may be workable eventually but that is not what you paid for is it.

I'd suggest you to first run the quick and extended tests from WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics tool, to see what's the health and SMART status. However, I think you should get in touch with our tech support, indeed, and send your RMA request.

I did try lifeguard too while on one of the desktops, it detected the internal drives (both wd) but not the new hdd in the docking station.

I've already started a returns process
