New HDD split into two seperate drives after system clone

I got a new hard drive, and didn't want to go through the hassle of doing a fresh install of windows and for all my programs, files, etc. So I did a system clone, which was successful. Everything is here, except on the first bootup it showed a hard drive with the same amount of space as my old one (500GB). So I went into management and saw that my other 500GB of my new 1TB HDD was unallocated. I formatted it as a new volume, but it is recognized as another separate drive. It also does not let me extend to space of drive C with D, even though they are same drive in actuality. Is there any way to have it recognized as the full drive instead of being split into two? Thanks.
