Like the title says, my new headsets sound way better with my phone, then with my PC

they sound very flat and muffled, compared to my phone which sounds amazing, i've messed with my EQ settings but it still doesn't sound the same as my phone

Should i get a sound card? I was think about one of these. (keep it below $50)

My phone is a Galaxy s4 mini.
My motherboard is https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/Z97-G45-GAMING.html#hero-overview
My Headset is https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-ZERO-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00GWU8FAE

Solution
Same thing with my S8 and ALC 1150, which I compared out of curiosity even though I use a Sound Blaster X normally.
The DAC and amp in that thing are surprisingly fantastic, Samsung generally do quite well in this regard, no surprising.
With an S4 mini though that's really interesting, i'd definitely get a decent sound card like an Asus Xonar.
The sound blaster Z is on sale atm, and a great deal so i've listed that too, but a more budget oriented option would be a better fit.

In order of preference. (Highly recommend the first or second one)

I don't know how much better that $40 sound card will be compared to the audio that is already on your board. Your board already has a sound blaster based audio chip. Did you install the drivers for that from Creative or MSI? Their software package should have a lot of audio settings to play with just like the standalone cards.

I think so, i re-installed realtek audio and it the audio manager has MSI logo on it
i also cant find any creative drivers for this mobo

i do not agree when people claim that any motherboard onboard audio is top of the line. even on a $350 motherboard the onboard audio is generally about as good as a $30-40 soundcard, nothing more. also, onboard audio generally suffers from emi or other audio issues more than slot based solutions. while onboard is generally good enough for most people and the solutions on your board are better than other boards, its not the best of the best.

why does your phone sound better? quite simply it may sound louder or more vibrant due to a better amplifier in your phone. it might sound clearer if the dac in the phone is better. with most phones this is not the case but there are certainly devices out there which are surprising. apples ipod for example.

if you are not already using it, try the front jack on your pc case. the front jack is more heavily amplified and meant for headphones. the rear jack on the back is meant for speakers and is not always as heavily amplified.

agreed, the soundblaster z might be worth your while. you did not let us know what headset you have but outside of anything truly hard to drive, the z will handle it.

I did link it, it's the Sennheiser game zero, i think im going to get the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX PCIe 5.1 Sound Card

your choice between the audigy fx or a xonar dgx honestly. both are okay budget level cards.

asus drivers tend to be better than creatives but the fx might have slightly better features.

i'm not sure how the amplifiers on them compare but i wouldnt listen to the "delivers 600ohm of power". ohms are a unit of resistance (impedance) not power. this is all marketing gibberish and more is going on behind the scenes.

if you have the newer 50ohm impedance game zero it should be much easier to drive than the older 150ohm set.
