New homebuilt computer having freezing trouble

im having some freezing trouble on my new home built system and i still cant figure it out i have been at it for about a week

motherboard-asus m588a-v evo
memory-vengeance lp ddr3 2x4gb
video card-radeon hd 6850
processor-amdphenom II 6core 3.0gh 1075t
hard drive-hitachi deskstar 3.5in 1tb 7200rpm
br/dvd drive-memorex combo drive br read dvd rw
windows 7 os

so far i have updated the drivers for the video card, br\dvd-drive. motherboard, and processor
i have changed the voltage to the correct amount for the ram in the bios menu
i have changed the speed the the correct amount for the processor in the bios menu
all windows updates have been done

oh if this helps any when it freezes i get a stutter from my speakers like a repeating sound until i turn it off
